Georgia Family Law Attorneys Representing Clients in Divorce and Child Custody
We represent parties in divorce actions, child custody proceedings, and other domestic relations disputes. In divorce actions, we help our clients identify the non-marital assets and debts that belong to our client, determine how to equitably divide marital assets and debts between the spouses, find assets hidden by a spouse, determine the amount and length of alimony when alimony is warranted, create a child custody plan that meets the best interests of the child(ren), and calculate the amount of child support that should be paid by a spouse. Oftentimes, we are able to accomplish a favorable settlement for our client before the divorce action is filed or shortly thereafter. When the parties are unable to reach an amicable settlement, we work with our clients to design a temporary plan for support and use of marital assets while the case is pending and to achieve a successful resolution at trial.
With respect to divorces that are not contested, we draft settlement agreements for our clients that fulfill their objectives.
We also represent parties in child support modification and change of child custody actions. In addition to representing parents in child custody disputes, we represent minor children when they are of age to express their wishes with respect to the child custody plan.
